Battle Creek Knights Name Greg Williams First Head Coach

Battle Creek, Michigan- At a press conference on Wednesday, December 29th, 2004, the Battle Creek Knights are pleased to announce the hiring of Greg Williams as the first professional head coach in the team's International Basketball League history for the 2005 upcoming season at Kellogg Arena.

"We're excited about having Greg on board as coach for our inaugural season of IBL basketball action at Kellogg Arena," Scott Niecko, Battle Creek Knights co-owner said.

Greg Williams comes to the Battle Creek Knights basketball team with vast experience working with athletes and students of the game of basketball. Greg is presently the varsity, junior varsity, freshman girl's basketball head coach and the varsity boy's assistant basketball coach at Battle Creek Central High School. Greg has experience also working with various basketball camps throughout the U.S. and club basketball teams in the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo area.

"Battle Creek has always been a hotbed for basketball and myself as a lifelong residence. I am excited about the opportunity that owners, Scott Niecko, James King, and Mike Lee, have made possible for Southwest Michigan to have a professional basketball team," Greg Williams stated.
