Charleston Battery News Release

Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery takes on the Pittsburgh Riverhounds Saturday night at Blackbaud Stadium, Daniel Island; gates open at 6 PM with kick off set for 7:30 PM. The Battery will be looking to bounce back tonight after consecutive 1-0 losses to local rival the Wilmington Hammerheads.

Saturday night is the first "Family Night" promotion of the season with Family packs available that include: 4 tickets, 4 hotdogs, 4 sodas and 4 bags of chips all for only $30.

Charleston Battery vs. Pittsburgh Riverhounds is presented by Dr. Kevin Riker and the staff of Charleston Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Immediately following the match on Saturday night there will be a spectacular fireworks display.

Saturday's match versus the Riverhounds is the return fixture after the Battery battled Pittsburgh to a 0-0 tie at Highmark Stadium back on April 26.

The Battery played Pittsburgh twice in 2013 winning 2-0 at Blackbaud Stadium and then forcing a 1-1 tie in the return fixture in Pittsburgh.

The Riverhounds finished as the seventh overall seed, advancing to the playoffs but were eliminated by eventual champions Orlando City 5-0 in the quarterfinal round.

Pittsburgh removed head coach and former Battery midfielder Justin Evans earlier this week and have placed first team player Nikola Katic in temporary charge of the team. The Riverhounds are winless in USL PRO play after posting a 0-4-3 start to the season.

Charleston Battery defender Shawn Ferguson will be unavailable for selection on Saturday as he serves a one-game suspension following his red-card in last week's game in Wilmington.
