Eagles Travel to Richmond for Weekend Clash

Charlotte, NC - The Charlotte Eagles will battle the Richmond Kickers on Saturday, May 24th. The last meeting between the two teams came in the Eagles second game of the season when the Eagles took a 2-1 victory over the Kickers. The Eagles two goals in the match came from Juan Guzman and Jorge Herrera, both of the goals were assisted by Drew Yates.
J orge Herrera and Drew Yates continue to lead the Charlotte attack. Herrera is currently 3 rd in scoring with four goals and two assists. Yates currently leads USL PRO in assists with five through eight matches. The Kickers lone goal in the earlier matchup came from Michael Seaton who holds a spot at 9 th in goals scored across the league. George Davis IV leads the Kickers in scoring, and also sits 2 nd in the league behind Molino of Orlando, with 12 points in nine games.
The Eagles are coming off a midweek game against league leader Orlando City where they fell 3-1 to the Lions. Orlando's three goals all came from Kevin Molino, two of which were unassisted. Molino currently leads the USL PRO in points with 20, from eight goals and four assists. Giuseppe Gentile scored his first professional goal late in the game.
In the Kickers last game they traveled to Chicago to face the Fire Reserves where the match ended in a 0-0 draw. Earlier in the season the Eagles faced the Reserves and fell to them 3-2 with a game winner from Juan Luis Anangono at the very beginning of the second half.
The Kickers currently sit at 3rd place in League standings with 18 points in 10 games just two spots behind league leader Orlando City. The Eagles currently occupy 9th place in the standings with 9 points in 7 games.
Charlotte will face the Carolina Railhawks in the 3rd round of US Open Cup play on Wednesday, May 28th before returning to Queens Sports Complex on Saturday, May 31st to take on the Wilmington Hammerheads.
