Charleston Battery News Release


The 2006 USL First Division Schedule has been finalized, with a 28 game regular season for each of the 12 First Division Clubs. The Charleston Battery will open its campaign at home on April 29 with a match versus the Virginia Beach Mariners; kick off is set for 7:30 PM.

All Charleston Battery home matches will be played at Blackbaud Stadium on Daniel Island. Opened in 1999, Blackbaud Stadium was the first privately financed soccer specific stadium in the United States. The state-of-the-art facility includes a host of fan-friendly features including the popular FUNZONE, an interactive children's playground.

The USL First Division playoffs begin Friday, September 15 with a pair of two-leg, aggregate score series in the First Round, featuring third to sixth place teams with the top two teams from the regular season receiving byes to the semifinals. The semifinals will also be two-leg, aggregate score series the following week with the USL First Division championship game September 30.

Season Tickets 2006 season ticket packages are on sale now with prices starting at only $120. A limited number of memberships to the Three Lions Club and Battery Club are still available plus this season the Charleston Battery is offering a Flex Pack season ticket package.
