Battery Returns to USL PRO Action With Friday Night Match vs. Harrisburg

Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery (6-2-1) returns to USL PRO action on Friday, May 31 with a 7:30 PM match at Blackbaud Stadium versus the Harrisburg City Islanders (5-2-1). The Battery are coming off of a 1-0 Tuesday night win against Major League Soccer's San Jose Earthquakes in the third round of Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
Club captain Colin Falvey was the hero in Tuesday's game scoring a late header past San Jose keeper, David Bingham to send the Battery into the fourth round.
Friday's match between Charleston and Harrisburg will be the second meeting in the 2013 regular season. The Battery came away with the victory in the first match by a score of 2-1 behind goals from Mike Azira and Nicki Paterson.
The Islanders have been managed by current head coach, Bill Becher, since 2004 and have experienced success in both the USL Second Division and the USL PRO. They were USL Second Division champions in 2007 and playoff contenders in the USL PRO during both the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
In 2012 the Charleston Battery eliminated Harrisburg City Islanders in a USL PRO quarterfinal match.
