
Battery Defeats Hammerheads in Preseason Scrimmage

Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery defeated the Wilmington Hammerheads by a score of one goal to nil Tuesday afternoon in a pre-season scrimmage. Forward Mamadou Diouf scored the lone goal, heading home the winner in the 90th minute.
Diouf's goal came after some good build-up play down the left side. Midfielder Andre Lewis whipped a cross into the near-post and Diouf angled his header into the far corner of the goal.
Next up for the Battery is a game versus the College of Charleston on Thursday afternoon at Patriots Point; kick off is set for 2:30 PM.
