Wilmington Sharks News Release
The bats were alive for the Sharks at home tonight in a 6-1 win over the Tobs. Wilmington (16-31, 9-13) used two, three-run innings to knock off Wilson (22-22, 12-8).
The Sharks first struck with two outs in the bottom of the first. Paxton Wallace singled with two outs and Ward Coleman followed walking on six pitches. Both players advanced on a wild pitch by David Harrison (0-4). Then, Trent Alley doubled to right center to take a 2-0 lead. Doug Angeli followed with a single to left side to put runners on the corners. With Zach Bridges at the plate, Angeli took off to second drawing a throw from Shamoy Christopher. On the throw, Trent Alley came home to score and the Sharks took the three run lead.
In the third, the Tobs scored their lone run of the night. With two outs, Brenton Doyle doubled off the right center wall to bring home Shamoy Christopher and cut Wilmington's lead to 3-1.
In the seventh, the Sharks added three more runs, again with two outs. Ben LaSpaluto singled and then Noah Liles and Ayden Karraker both walked to load the bases. Paxton Wallace took a pitch off the shoulder from Danny Cody to put the Sharks back up by three. Mr. Shark, Ward Coleman, then singled to the left side of the infield and two more runs scored on the play.
With the lead, the Sharks bullpen shut the door as Aron Chick and Seth Chestnut pitched four scoreless innings, without allowing a hit and striking out six. Starting pitcher Sam Luchansky (4-4) earned the win tossing five innings, allowing one run on six hits and struck out five.

The gates open tomorrow at 6:00 for the final Thirsty Thursday. The Sharks Pregame show begins at 6:50. The game can be streamed here: portal.stretchinternet.com/cplsharks/
