LAKE ELSINORE, Ca. - The Ports exploded for a season-high 17 hits and scored seven times in the top of the second inning en route to a 12-3 win over the Lake Elsinore Storm in the series opener at The Diamond in Southern California.

Junior Perez got the frame started with an infield single and after stealing second, scored with one out on a triple to center field by T.J. Schofield-Sam to give the Ports a 1-0 lead. Danny Bautsita followed with an infield single to score Schofield-Sam from third to make it 2-0. After Alexander Campos singled and Bautista was caught stealing, Ramon Martinez singled to put runners on the corners and Campos scored from third base on an errant pickoff throw to first by Storm starter Manuel Castro to give the Ports a 3-0 lead. Mariano Ricciardi then singled to put runners on the corners again for Marcos Brito who singled to left field to score Martinez from third base to make it 4-0.
