Batley not returning to Mammoth bench

Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - Colorado Mammoth general manager Steve Govett announced on Friday that the team will not renew the contract of head coach Jamie Batley.
Batley, who took over the Mammoth midway through its inaugural season in 2003, led Colorado to three consecutive National Lacrosse League playoff appearances and two division titles.
"Jamie Batley has been a very important part of this organization and we thank him for his leadership and hard work during the last three years," Govett said.
Batley began with the Mammoth in 2003 as offensive coordinator, but replaced Rod Jensen as coach after the team struggled to a 4-5 start. The Mammoth responded by winning five of seven games, including four consecutive wins to capture the East Division title on the last day of the regular season. In 2004 Batley directed the Mammoth to a league-best 13-3 record and the West Division title.
In his first NLL head coaching job Batley amassed a 26-13 regular-season record behind the Mammoth bench, but was 1-3 in playoff games.
