Baseball and fireworks tickets on sale

VISALIA – All American Tickets, which will put people at the July 4 Visalia Oaks game and the Visalia Parks and Recreation Foundation's All American Fireworks Spectacular are currently on sale at six locations in Visalia.

The passes are available at the Visalia Mall office, the Visalia Chamber of Commerce, the YMCA, Visalia City Hall, Link's Men's Wear in downtown Visalia and at the Visalia Oaks office at Recreation Park. Tickets for only the All American Fireworks Spectacular, presented by Provident Mortgage can also be purchased at each of those locations.

For the fireworks spectacular, adult tickets are $6.00, while child and senior tickets are $4.00. Tickets to the Oaks game are between $4.00 and $6.00. Passes good for admission to both events are $8.00.

Only July 4, the Oaks will host the Modesto Athletics at 5:05 p.m. at Recreation Park as part of the team's Coors Independence Weekend celebration. Gates open for the All American Fireworks Spectacular at 6:00 p.m. and the fireworks can be seen at dusk. The Spectacular will be held at Centex Homes Stadium at the Mineral King Bowl.

Also on July 4, Bank of the Sierra Player Posters presented by IDEA Printing and Graphics will be given to the first 500 fans entering the game. Prior to the game, the American Legion will be presenting a special POW/MIA ceremony. Gates open for the baseball game at 4:05 p.m.

The Oaks will also host Modesto at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, July 5 with the Coors Independence Weekend Fireworks Display following the game.

Oaks All Star: Right handed pitcher Mike Esposito (6-3, 3.94 ERA) pitched the top of the ninth inning at the 2003 Century 21 California League Carolina League All Star Game in Rancho Cucamonga. Esposito allowed one hit in one inning, but faced only three hitters thanks to an inning ending double play.

Next for the Oaks: Visalia plays its next eight games against Stockton. The first in the string will be a four game series against the Ports beginning Thursday at Recreation Park. On AM 1270 KJUG, the Radisson Pre Game Show begins at 6:22 p.m. Thursday.
