Barry Melrose To Be At Chevrolet Centre On March 1st

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - The Youngstown SteelHounds announced today that ESPN personality Barry Melrose will be appearing at the Chevrolet Centre on Saturday, March 1st when the Hounds host the Wichita Thunder at 7:05.

"Kevin (SteelHounds Head Coach Kevin Kaminski) has known him for a while and we are happy he has made it possible for Barry to be on hand at one of our games. He will be dropping the first puck and who knows what else they will get involved in as the night progresses."

Melrose is currently a studio analyst for the National Hockey League (NHL) on ESPN. The former Los Angeles Kings Head Coach joined the "Sports Leader" in 1996 and has since been a part of NHL in-studio shows and broadcasts on ESPN and ESPN2 and also serves as a regular contributor on SportsCenter, ESPN radio and ESPN, the Magazine. Melrose was the head coach of the Kings from 1992-95 and led the team to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time in franchise history during his inaugural season (1992-93). He also played over 300 NHL games during his 11-year playing career seeing time with Winnipeg, Toronto and Detroit (1979-86).
