Barracudas Sign Former Liga MX Player

HIDALGO, Texas - The Rio Grande Valley Barracudas have signed former player Liga MX player and Mexico National Beach Soccer player Cesar Saldivar for the 2017-2018 season. As per team and league policy terms of contract are disclosed.

Saldivar is a native of Matamoros, Tamaulipas and has spent numerous years playing in Liga De Acenso and Liga MX of Mexico. Some of the teams that Saldivar has played for in Mexico are Jaguares de Chiapas, Venados de Yucatan, Rayos de Necaxa, Altamira FC, Coras de Tepic, San Luis, and Dorados de Sinaloa.

Saldivar plays as a defender and has scored 10 goals in his career while amassing over 14,000 played minutes while in Liga MX.

Saldivar aside from playing in Liga MX, he has also participated with the Mexico Beach Soccer team in which he has participated in multiple international tournaments such as the 2015 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup where played as a midfielder.

Saldivar is pending visa approval for the upcoming season.

The RGV Barracudas season opener is on the road October 28th against El Paso. The home opener is November 4th as the Barracudas host the Florida Tropics with the kick off at 7:05 PM.
