RECENT GAMES
MARCH 5 – ORLANDO 4 AT JACKSONVILLE 6
Klage Kaebel had two goals and two assists to lead the Cudas. Lyle Steenbergen, Kory Baker, and Brett Strot added two points each. Randy Hevey made 30 saves picking up his league leading 20th win on the season. The game also featured five major penalties, five misconducts, 10 game misconducts, three gross misconducts, and one match penalty. In all, a new WHA2 record of 245 minutes in penalties was called. Head Coach Ron Duguay has been suspended for 10 games, and Dan Pszenyczny has been suspended for one game as results of FridayÂ’s melee with Orlando.
MARCH 11 – JACKSONVILLE 0 AT MACON 1 (FORFIET)
The Barracudas added a game to their schedule when Miami players refused to travel to Macon due to payment issues. When an insurance issues arose with the Barracudas players, they too refused to travel to Macon and the league docked the Barracudas with a forfeit loss instead of Miami, MaconÂ’s original opponents. The Barracudas are currently protesting that decision.
MARCH 12 – JACKSONVILLE 4 AT MACON 5
Lyle Steenbergen scored twice while Kory Baker had a goal and two assists as Jacksonville lost itÂ’s third in a row (fourth if you count the forfeit) at the Macon Centreplex. MaconÂ’s John Gurskis scored three second period goals to propel l the Trax to victory. With MaconÂ’s win, they move into the fourth and final play-off spot in the WHA2.
MARCH 13 – JACKSONVILLE AT MIAMI
Game cancelled due to issues with the Miami Arena. Game will not be rescheduled.
MARCH 14 – LAKELAND 1 AT JACKSONVILLE 6
Six different players scored for Jacksonville. The line of Klage Kaebel, Lyle Steenbergen, and Kory Baker combined for seven points (2g-5a). Defenseman Justin Berry had his best game as a professional scoring once while adding two assists. He also had a game high plus/minus rating of +4. Randy Hevey made 27 saves for his league leading 21st win of the season.
