Barracudas Add Three More to the Roster

October 17, 2017 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) - Brownsville Barracudas News Release

HIDALGO, Texas ---- The Rio Grande Valley Barracudas have added three more players to the roster and they are Victor Hugo Sanchez, Irving Tovar and Jorge Ruiz. All three players are from Tamaulipas, Mexico. As per team and league policy terms of all three contracts are disclosed.

Sanchez arrives to the Rio Grande Valley having played for LMFR (Mexican Indoor Soccer League) side Buffalo de Reynosa earlier in 2017 and also having experience in the MASL for Hidalgo La Fiera in the 2014-2015 campaign. In five appearances for La Fiera Sanchez scored twice and two helpers.

Tovar also joins the Barracudas also having been team mates with Sanchez in Reynosa and Hidalgo during the same campaign. Tovar appeared in seven games for La Fiera scoring three times and providing one assist.

Sanchez and Tovar were also teammates during the RGV Devils run to the National PASL Premier Championship with current RGV Barracudas head coach Jorge Quiroz.

Ruiz joins the RGV Barracudas after developing in their academy for a couple of years playing at the PASL Premier level for two seasons with the Brownsville Barracudas.

All three players are pending visa approval for the upcoming season.

The RGV Barracudas season opener is on the road October 28th against El Paso. The home opener is November 4th as the Barracudas host the Florida Tropics with the kick off at 7:05 PM.
