Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Sunday evening's match-up between the Lookouts and Birmingham Barons started on an auspicious note for Chattanooga with two quick runs in the first inning; however, the Barons were able to come back and usurp the Lookouts' lead, ultimately coming away with a 4-3 win at AT&T Field.

The Lookouts came out swinging right out of the gate. Brian Cavazos-Galvez led off the bottom of the first with a double and advanced to third on a subsequent Nick Buss bunt. J.T. Wise followed with a line-drive homer to left-center field to give Chattanooga a 2-0 lead.

Birmingham entered the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth, when Drew Garcia hit a ground out to shortstop Jake Lemmerman with the bases loaded. Garcia was able to just beat out the completion of a double play to allow Jared Mitchell to score.

The Barons kept rolling in the sixth with two more runs to take the load. Seth Loman began the rally with a single and eventually made his way home on a Mitchell double. Damaso Espino followed with a single to give Birmingham a 3-2 lead.

Birmingham added an insurance run in the top of eighth, but the Lookouts countered in the bottom portion of the inning with a run of their own on a Buss sacrifice fly, which was preceded by a Luis Nunez triple.

The Lookouts entered the ninth down by just one run and made solid contact on several pitches; however, they were ultimately left with the acerbic, alliaceous taste of defeat at the hands of Santos Rodriguez, who picked up his second save of the season.

The Chattanooga Lookouts and Birmingham Barons will continue their five-game series at 7:15 P.M., tomorrow. Tickets for this game or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
