
Barons Assisting with Tornado Recovery Efforts

Oklahoma City - The players, coaches and staff of the Oklahoma City Barons offer their condolences to the families impacted by the tornadoes in and around central Oklahoma on May 19 - 20.
Game 3 of the Barons Western Conference playoff series against Grand Rapids is Wednesday, May 29 and the Barons are making the game available for ANY FAN simply for a donation to the United Way's OK Strong Disaster Relief Fund.
Each Barons home game next week has a specially designed t-shirt associated with it. Fans can receive a t-shirt by attending a game and making a donation of $10-or-more to the OK Strong Disaster Relief Fund. All gross proceeds collected for the t-shirts over the three games will benefit the OK Strong Disaster Relief Fund. Each t-shirt design compliments the Oklahoma Standard for communities banding together in times of need.
For residents of the hardest hit areas of Central Oklahoma like Moore, Carney, Shawnee and Newcastle, Barons fans affected may attend any of the Western Conference Finals playoff games at no charge. Those displaced by the storm need simply to show their identification with proof of residency at the Cox Convention Center Box Office on the evening of any Western Conference Finals Playoff Game.
Game 3 of the series is Wednesday, May 29, while Game 4 is Friday, May 31 and Game 5 is scheduled for Saturday, June 1. Faceoff for all three games is 7 p.m. Friday night is Concession Specials Night with $2 beer and $1 hot dogs from 6 - 8 p.m.
Barons Season Seat Holders that have reserved or received their playoff tickets will be issued tickets to the game on May 29 at no charge with their donation to the OK Strong Disaster Relief Fund. Season Seat Holders that have not yet purchased tickets can donate to the OK Strong Disaster Relief Fund on the day of the game.
Barons players assisted the recovery efforts by donating funds as well as needed supplies and goods like water, sports drinks and diapers to the local United Way. For the duration of the playoffs, the Barons are wearing a helmet sticker on both sets of helmets in the shape of the state of Oklahoma with the words "HOME" in the middle of the state.
Every penny collected for the United Way OK Strong Disaster Relief Fund stays in the state of Oklahoma to assist with the long-term medical, emotional and educational needs of victims of the tornadoes in central Oklahoma.
