Birmingham Barons News Release
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Barons announced their 2015 parking plan for the season Tuesday afternoon, continuing their partnership with Children's of Alabama, Intelligent Parking Systems and the Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority.
Including lots provided by Children's of Alabama and Intelligent Parking Systems, approximately 3,000 individual parking spaces are available within a five-minute walk of Regions Field. Lot B, located off 17th Street between 3rd and 4th Avenue will be used primarily for season ticket holders while Lot C, located off 18th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue will be open to the public. Fans also have access to the Barber's parking lot on the corner of 14th Street and 1st Avenue North, as well as the parking lots at Ted's Cafeteria on 12th Street and HESCO Auto Service on 2nd Avenue South. Street parking spaces and other public parking locations will be accessible within two blocks of the ballpark. Click here to view the Regions Field parking map.
Intelligent Parking Systems has 15 six-passenger carts running on a continuous loop between lots and Regions Field during all home games, providing fans with efficient transportation before and after each game.
"We want to provide safe and convenient parking for all fans attending games at Regions Field," Barons General Manager Jonathan Nelson said. "The Barons, Children's Hospital, Intelligent Parking Systems and BJCTA have all worked diligently to ensure that our game day parking plan is secure and convenient for everyone."
The Barons also continue their partnership with BJCTA as the MAX Dart trolley is set to run again for Barons home games in 2015. The classic, wood-panel trolleys run all day on Barons game days until 11 p.m. weeknights and until midnight on weekends. Pick-up is scheduled for every 45 minutes, and there is no operation on Sundays.
"We are happy to partner with the Birmingham Barons to provide this public service to customers," BJCTA Chief of Staff Barbara Murdock said. "We feel like this is an enhancement for our system and our city."
Fans may also monitor the Barons Facebook and Twitter pages for daily parking updates throughout the season. Both feeds will be updated frequently to inform fans of open parking spaces.
Birmingham opens the 2015 season Thursday, April 9 as Regions Field hosts the Mobile BayBears at 7:05 p.m. To order tickets, visit Barons.com or call (205) 988-3200. For more information, visit us at www.barons.com, www.facebook.com/birminghambarons or on Twitter: @bhambarons.
