
Barber Returns: Rostenkowski Makes Debut

WENATCHEE, Wash. - Forward Jacob Barber (Dardenne Prairie, Mo.)returned and defenseman TylerRostenkowski (Bloomingdale, Ill.) made his debut Friday with the Wenatchee Wild, but it wasn't enough as the Kenai River Brown Bears picked up a 2-0 victory atthe Town Toyota Center.
The Brown Bears drew first bloodlate in the first period when Alex Frere fired a puck into the Wild net fromthe low inside corner of the left circle. Jacob Davidson and Zac Lazzaroassisted.
Kenai River doubled its lead with17 seconds remaining in the second period when Brett Lubanski scored ashort-handed breakaway marker. Frere earned the only assist on Lubanksi's goal.
Austin Severson stopped all 27shots he faced to earn his second shutout of the season. Greg Lewis (Mars, Pa.) made 23 saves on 25 shots but suffered theloss despite making a couple difficult saves in the second frame, including onewith his left toe, to keep the Wild in contention.
Frere recorded the onlymulti-point game (1G, 1A). Wenatchee and Kenai River each went 0-for-5 on thepower play.
The Wild (21-12-4) will try toforce a split in this weekend's 2-game series against the Brown Bears (20-15-2)Saturday. Faceoff is slated for 7:05 p.m.
