August 27, 2003 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Bangor Lumberjacks News Release
Bangor, ME- The Bangor Lumberjacks, a proud member of the Northeast League, announced today that they have planned an Ed Ott Commemorative Watch Giveaway.
After being ejected in the third inning of Wednesday's Lumberjacks/Ambassadors game , Ott refused to leave the field, delaying the game for 43 minutes. For Thursday's game against the Ambassadors, the Lumberjacks will have ten contestants sit in chairs to win a watch from the Lumberjacks. The contestants must sit for a minimum of 43 minutes, the amount of the delay, and drink a soda per inning. The last person remaining seated will win the watch, valued at $250.
"I think it's a good way to make light of today's embarrassing situation. It's a chance for one of the fans that had to witness the game to win a great prize. It's our small way to say thank you to the loyal fans who sat through the delay," stated Lumberjacks General Manager Curt Jacey.
Thursday night's game begins at 7:15, with gates opening at 6 PM. For tickets, call the Lumberjacks Ticket Office at (207) 947-1900 or stop in the Lumberjacks Pro Shop in the Bangor Mall.
