
Bandits sign radio affiliation agreement with WGR-AM 550

Buffalo, NY (January 6, 2004) - The Buffalo Bandits announced today they have reached a radio affiliation agreement with WGR-AM 550 to be the official radio station for the 2005 season. The station will provide live coverage for 13 of the 16 regular season contests and all postseason games.
"We are extremely excited to have WGR as our official radio station for this season," said Bandits' General Manager Kurt Silcott. "We're trying to reach out to the many passionate lacrosse fans in the area and we think this is another significant step in that direction."
John Gurtler will once again handle the play-by-play duties for the team and joining him in the broadcast booth for the second consecutive will be former Bandit Randy Mearns.
"The Bandits offer WGR a great opportunity to reach new fans and to be front and center in a sold-out HSBC arena," said Greg Ried, General Manager of WGR AM 550.
The Bandits will open the 2005 season against the Toronto Rock at the HSBC Arena on Friday, January 7, 2005, at 7:30 PM.
