Bandits set to pick third overall in 2006 NLL Draft

BUFFALO, N.Y. (September 12, 2006) -- The Buffalo Bandits will pick third overall in tomorrow's National Lacrosse League Entry Draft. The draft, which will consist of six rounds, will be held in the Theater Lobby at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Buffalo acquired the third overall pick in a June 28 trade with the Edmonton Rush that sent forward A.J. Shannon and Buffalo's first round pick in the 2007 Entry Draft to Edmonton.

Time Warner channel 13 will air a half-hour NLL Entry Draft recap show at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 16. There will be six additional airings of the show: Sunday, September 17 at 6 p.m., Monday, September 18 at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 20 at 9 p.m., Thursday, September 21 at 9 p.m., Friday, September 22 at 2:30 p.m., and Saturday, September 23 at 2:30 p.m.

Fans can also watch the draft live and free of charge at nll.com via the b2 networks. Coverage will begin at 8 p.m.

The Bandits currently have eight picks in tomorrow's draft:

Round 1 - 3rd overall (from Edmonton)

Round 2 - 18th overall (from Minnesota via San Jose)

24th overall

Round 3 - 30th overall (from Philadelphia)

37th overall

Round 4 - 47th overall (from Calgary)

Round 5 - 63rd overall

Round 6 - 76th overall
