Buffalo, NY- The Buffalo Bandits (12-3) defeated the New Jersey Storm (3-11) 19-12 to finish the season undefeated at home. With the win the Bandits remain in first place in the National Lacrosse League.
The Bandits jumped out to a 12-6 led at halftime and never looked back. The Bandits were led by game MVP Mike Accursi (4G, 4A, 8P), John Tavares (5G, 2A, 7P), and Jonas Derks (2G, 5A). Picking up the win for the Bandits was Steve Dietrich who stopped 45 shots on the night. New Jersey was led by goaltender Derek General who stopped 54 shots on the night, many of them point-blank range. Former Bandit Roy Colsey(3G, 3A, 6P) and Stephen Sombrotto (4G, 1A, 5P) led the Storm in scoring .
The Bandits finish the regular season Friday night in Calgary, if the Bandits win the game they will clinch home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
