Bandits Beef Up For Second Half of Season

May 7, 2014 - Lone Star Football League (LSFL)
San Angelo Bandits News Release

The San Angelo Bandits and Head Coach Joe Brannen are excited to announce today the addition of 6'2" 325 pound offensive lineman, Chis Brown. Brown is an indoor football veteran. He brings size and experience to the already talented offensive line unit for the Bandits. Brown has experience playing both offensive and defensive line, as he was a defensive lineman for a majority of his college career.

"Chris is a big pick up for us," stated Coach Brannen, "we have a talented offensive line that takes pride in protecting our quarterback. Through a long season those guys take some wear and tear on their body, we have had a couple that had to battle through some injuries and are heading into the second half of the season healthy, but we felt it was extremely important to bring in another offensive lineman for the overall health of our team. We feel we have a very explosive offense, Luke Collis has been playing extremely well, after tossing 9 touchdown passes against Rio on April 26th. And our receiver group has been excellent. Those guys get all the recognition, but without a good offensive line in front of our quarterback, none of what they have accomplished lately, would be possible."

The Bandits offensive line group in total weighs in just shy of a ton! Between this offensive line group of David Coffey (center), Willie Bradley (tackle), Alex Joyner (fullback, tightend) Eric Davis (tight end), Chris Brown (tight end), and Phillip Sumlin (fullback and linebacker), the Bandit Offensive Line unit weighs in at a whopping 1,880 pounds! Make sure you cheer on YOUR San Angelo Bandits as they head to Rio Grande Valley this weekend to protect their First Place position in the LSFL. And join your Bandits for a TON of fun when they return home to Foster Communications Coliseum on Monday, May 19th at 6:05 p.m.
