Bandits Announce Partnership with 1590 WCGO Chicago

ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Chicago Bandits are pleased to announce a partnership with 1590 WCGO Chicago for the upcoming season. Based in nearby Evanston, 1590 WCGO will broadcast all Bandits games, home and away, during the 2016 campaign.

Players and coaches will also make weekly guest appearances on "French and Stowell" throughout the year. Be sure to tune in to hear your favorite Bandits players discuss their road to professional fastpitch softball and their success throughout the season.

"1590 WCGO strives to feature key community cornerstones throughout Chicagoland and the Chicago Bandits provide such a cornerstone for the female athletes," 1590 WCGO general manager Chuck Duncan said.

Radio broadcasts of all Bandits games on 1590 WCGO will begin approximately 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of each game. The Bandits traditional live videocast of the games, which can be seen on www.chicagobandits.com, will also start 15 minutes prior to first pitch.

"This is a very exciting opportunity for the Bandits and the league as a whole," said Bandits GM Aaron M. Moore. "This is our first full-season radio deal and we're looking forward to reaching more homes and softball fans with this opportunity.

"1590 WCGO has been amazing to work with already and they really are passionate about making this work and making the Bandits a household name in Chicago and its surrounding communities. We think this is only the beginning with them!"

Bandits veteran play-by-play man and broadcast hall of famer Mike Knezevich will handle the duties for all home games, while road games will be handled by station personnel.

"The Bandits are one of Chicago's most successful sports franchises," team special assistant Irwin Shiffman said. "1590 WCGO has committed to greater community involvement with programming and promotion and Bandits games and coverage ensures future success and a terrific partnership."

In addition to being the new exclusive radio broadcasting partner of the Bandits, 1590 WCGO has provided the Chicago area with a wide array of coverage. Local, national and international news plays a key role in 1590 WCGO's vast lineup of shows, including French and Stowell, Trending Today USA with Rusty Humphries, Classic Radio Theater, Coast to Coast, Gun Talk, Mike Jackson Outdoors. Additionally, WCGO 1590 is an official radio partner of NASCAR and the Chicagoland Speedway.

The Bandits open the 2016 season on Thursday, June 2 when they host the NPF's newest team, the Scrap Yard Dawgs, for a three-game series. First pitch on opening day is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
