
Baltimore Mariner taken in inaugural AAFL draft

Baltimore, MD...The Baltimore Mariners of the American Indoor Football League are to proud to announce that defensive end Jamar Johnson was selected with the 257th overall pick in the 43rd round by Team Michigan of the All American Football League.
Johnson (6' 4" 255), from Suitland, MD signed to play for the Mariners in November after an outstanding college career at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania where led the Wolves in career tackles and sacks. Jamar also received 1st Team PSAC East honors.
Johnson recently finished a season with the DC Explosion of the NAFL where he recorded a total of 14 sacks which ranks him number two in the NAFL for the All-Time single season sacks.
Another notable AIFA player drafted by the AAFL is Mississippi Mudcats' receiver Joel Babb. Babb was selected in the 22nd round by Team Alabama.
