Ballpark Improvements Progressing

After several months of hard work, the renovations and improvements at Homer Stryker Field are nearly complete. The construction crews are in the final stages adding the finishing touches to the field and the new souvenir and concession stand as the Kalamazoo Kings home opener quickly approaches.

Crews completed laying the new outfield sod last Friday, April 18 and the field will be ready for the Kalamazoo Kings local tryouts on Saturday, May 3, 2003. The new souvenir stand/Meijer Fan Services Booth, concession stand and left field picnic deck are progressing and are on schedule to be completed prior to opening day.

The Kalamazoo Kings open the 2003 Frontier League season on Friday, May 23, 2003 at home against league rival the Washington Wild Things. The game begins at 6:35 p.m. and there are fireworks immediately following the game. The first 2,500 fans through the gate also receive the Kings 2003 magnet schedule courtesy of Henderson Glass.
