
Balanced Attack Lead Dazzle To Road Win Against Florida, 103-96

FORT MYERS, FL, November 23- The Roanoke Dazzle (2-1) defeated the Florida Flame by a score of 103-96 in front of 1,139 fans at Germain Arena Tuesday night. Roanoke used a balanced scoring attack, including seven players in double figures to secure the win. Isiah Victor led the way for Roanoke of the bench, scoring 21 points (ten in the 2nd quarter), pulling down six rebounds, and blocking two shots. Carl English led the way for Florida, connecting for 27 points and four assists in the losing effort.
Roanoke?s presence in the paint was shown tonight, out-scoring Florida 58-32 and out-rebounding the Flame 53-42.
"If you are going to win, you have to win in the lane," said Roanoke Head Coach Kent Davison. "I think our guys did a good job of that."
The Dazzle also found great play from the bench, outscoring Florida?s bench 51-8, including 18 points from Mike King and 12 points from Sherman Gay.
For the Flame (1-1), Kevin Braswell and Kirk Haston each recorded their second double-doubles of the early season. Braswell scored ten points and had 12 assists while Haston recorded 18 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. Darius Rice added 23 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists for Florida.
James Thomas, who leads the leads the NBDL in rebounding, once again had a stellar game on the boards. Thomas, averaging 18.5 rebounds per game, pulled down a game high 17 rebounds (ten offensive) and scored 11 points.
The Flame will return to action on Thursday, December 2nd at 7:30 p.m. when they play host to the Columbus Riverdragons. Roanoke travels to Fayetteville on Friday, November 26 for a 7:30 tip-off against the Patriots.
