Bakersfield Blitz News Release
Bakersfield - Bakersfield Blitz WR/DB DeRonn Finley is named the US Army Ironman of the Week by the af2 for week 16.
Finley (5'9, 185, Idaho St.) had an outstanding game on both sides of the ball despite Saturday night's disappointment of the Blitz 51-37 loss against the Central Valley Coyotes. On the offense side, Finley had five receptions for 38 yards, 16 rushing yards, one rushing touchdown, and 85 kick return yards. On the defense side, Finley recorded 3.5 tackles and an 18 yard interception return that ended him in the end zone for a touchdown.
This is Finley's fourth Ironman of the Week honor in his career and his second for the season. He was awarded the honor in Week 2 after Bakersfield's loss to the Spokane Shock.
Finley and the rest of the Blitz team will be taking the field against the Stockton Lightning on Saturday, July 22. Kick off is set for 7:00 p.m. at Rabobank Arena.
Great seats are still available for home games. For more information, please call 377-BLITZ (2548) or visit www.bakersfieldblitz.com.
