Bakersfield Blitz Lend Helping Hands at Habitat for Humanity's Home Builders Blitz 2006

Bakersfield- The Bakersfield Blitz players, dancers, and owners are committing their time and effort to Habitat for Humanity's Home Builders Blitz 2006 on Thursday, May 25 at 2:00 p.m. The home is being built on a vacant lot across from the KGET 17 Studio, 2120 L Street.

The Bakersfield Blitz team is joining with others in the community to help build a home for the Chavez Family. The construction began on Monday, May 21 and will continue until the home is finished. The Blitz team will work as a support crew; assisting local subcontractors and suppliers with the finishing of the house at no cost to the Chavez Family.

Home Builders Blitz is an eighteen day straight build of a home developed for a family in need. According to Habitat for Humanity, ". . . it is a nationwide effort that joins Habitat for Humanity affiliates and 1,000 professional homebuilders to provide houses for more than 1,000 people nationwide. By working with Habitat, professional builders are making affordable housing a reality."

The Blitz team are traveling North on Saturday, May 27 for the Battle of Highway 99-Part II against the Central Valley Coyotes. Kick off is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Selland Arena.
