In 2012, the Kingston, ON native appeared in just three games totaling nine receptions for 69 yards before missing the remainder of the season due to injury. The 27 year-old has played 52 games over his six seasons with 134 catches for 1,935 yards and eight touchdowns. He was the Riders 2009 nominee as Most Outstanding Canadian.
Sweed (6'4 - 220) spent the last two weeks of the 2012 season on the Riders practice roster after signing with the team in October.
