Rockford IceHogs News Release

Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs popular show "Bacon Bits" returns this Sunday, March 11 at 9:30 p.m. The magazine-style show airs on FOX 39, WQRX and runs for 30 minutes. WTVO Sports Director Scott Leber and Weekend Sports Anchor Vince Conway host "Bacon Bits".

This month's edition will take a look inside the IceHogs 8th Annual Jersey Auction for charity. The auction took place on Saturday, March 3 and fans will get a behind-the-scenes look at the auction and will get to meet some of this year's winning bidders.

Ever wonder what superstitions IceHogs players have? Well "Bacon Bits" will dissect certain superstitions of this season's IceHogs skaters. "Bacon Bits" then takes the show on the road. Hogs winger Jason Ralph will give IceHogs fans a sneak peek inside Rockford's recent road swing that took the team to Kalamazoo, Mich. and Elmira, NY.

No matter how advanced technology becomes, hockey players like to tinker with their hockey sticks. Leber will find how this year's IceHogs skaters like to prepare their hockey sticks for games and what makes the perfect hockey stick.

The March version of "Bacon Bits" will also contain the popular interactive Fan Feature segment and another HogTied feature. This month's HogTied player is center Mike Doyle.

Next Home Game: Friday, March 16 vs. Kalamazoo Wings. Game time is 7:30 p.m. A pre-St. Patrick's Day bash at the MetroCentre as the Hogs welcome the defending Colonial Cup champs. The first 1,000 fans to the game will pick-up an IceHogs Stadium Cup from Bud Light and Bob FM.

Sunday, March 18 vs. Flint Generals. The puck drops at 3:05 p.m. Rockford and Flint meet for the final time this season. Sunday is a Dollar Days with the IceHogs, sponsored by 97ZOK. Also, don't forget your skates as the Hogs are hosting a post-game skate with the IceHogs players brought to you by CoCo Key Water Resort.
