Baby Cal Heads to Lancaster for the JetHawks Mascot Night

Upcoming week of June 2nd - June 8th:

· Monday, June 2nd - Log on and chat with Condors Head Coach Paul Kelly as he fine-tunes his typing skills in this summer's first real time live chat with a Condor. Coach Kelly will be available to answer questions and discuss hockey strategies from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Log onto www.condorsonline.com, and click on the Condors Chat icon to register.

· Tuesday, June 3rd - Right winger Jamie Cooke and Condors staff will be attending Berkshire Elementary School's End of the Year Award Ceremony at 1:30 pm. Condors will be handing out awards to students for their efforts in attendance, honor roll, and athletic achievement. Berkshire Elementary is located at 3900 Berkshire Road.

· Thursday, June 5th - Cal, the baby Condor will be making a trip to Antelope Valley to take in a Lancaster JetHawks baseball game. Baby Cal will be learning the ins & outs of baseball from KaBoom, the JetHawks mascot, as he takes part in the JetHawks "All Mascot Night". The JetHawks have invited mascots from all California League teams as well as local Antelope Valley businesses and non-profit organizations to attend the game and entertain fans. The Lancaster JetHawks play at "The Hanger" located at 45116 Valley Central Way, Lancaster. Thursday's game begins at 7:15 pm, with the gates opening at 5:30 pm. · Saturday, June 7th- Cal, the baby Condor will be attending the Bobby Sox softball Awards Picnic from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Patriots Park. Patriots Park is located at 5000 Ming Avenue.

Week in Review:

· Saturday, May 31st - Cal, the baby Condor, the Condors Slapshot, and Condors staff attended the KGET-TV 17 Kids Fest from

10:00 am - 3:00 pm. The Condors co-sponsored this year's Kids Fest, which was held at Yokuts Park.

· Saturday, May 31st - Condors Director of Community Relations John Ayre and Condors Head Coach Paul Kelly participated in the Bakersfield Museum of Art, Men Cooking event.

· Sunday, June 1st - Cal, the baby Condor, the Condors Slapshot, and Condors staff finished off the weekend at the KGET-TV 17 Kids Fest from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Condors Droppings:

· Bakersfield's 2003-2004 season schedule has been announced. The Condors will open their first season in the ECHL on Friday, October 17th, 2003 against the Fresno Falcons. Season tickets are now available with packages starting at just $48. Stop by the Condors office at Centennial Garden or call the Condors at 324-PUCK (7825) for more information.

· Kids, mark your calendars for the Kern County Libraries 2003 reading program, sponsored by KGET-TV 17 and The Bakersfield Condors. This year's program runs Monday, June 9th - Saturday, July 26th. Any child who reads ten (10) books during the program will receive a voucher good for two (2) complimentary terrace tickets to any Condors Hockey game prior to November 22, 2003. Contact the Kern County Library at 868-0750 or log onto www.kerncountylibrary.org to sign up for the program or for more information.

· The Condors official retail outlet, the Condors Closet, is now operating on summer hours. It is open Monday through Friday, from 11:00 am until 5:30 pm. The "Spring Sale" is going on, giving a 20% discount on select Condors golf polos, assorted sweatshirts, jerseys and T-shirts. The Condors Closet is located at 1022 Truxtun Avenue, across from Centennial Garden.
