BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that former B-Sens goaltender Kelly Guard and equipment manager Tom Severance have partnered to present the Guardian Goalie Development School this summer.

The Guardian Goalie School is set to take place July 17 to 20 at Chenango Ice Rink (614 River Road, Binghamton). The school will feature four days of on-ice sessions. Each group participating will have at least two hours of on-ice instruction led by Guard in addition to off-ice training and activities.

Off-ice activities include, but are not limited to, a nutritional information session presented by Molly Morgan, RD, owner of Creative Nutrition Solutions, appearances from suppliers in the hockey industry and professional skate sharpening for participants.

Guard tended goal for the Binghamton Senators for two seasons (2005-07). In 93 regular season games with the B-Sens the Prince Albert, Sask. native posted a record of 36-43-4 with 3.23 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage. Guard is tied for second place on the B-Sens' list of all-time career leaders in shutouts with seven.

"I'm looking forward to making my way back to Binghamton in July and having the opportunity to work with the area's young goaltenders. It will be fun and more importantly, it will be a great learning experience for the kids," said Guard.

"I'm excited to have the opportunity to help young goalies from our area improve their skills. We are going to make this a great experience in their development," added Severance.

The school is open to boys and girls from youth to high school ages. The cost to participate is $500 and includes a jersey generously provided by Vaughn Custom Sports.
