LAST GAME: The B-Mets racked up 15 strikeouts and used a dozen hits to defeat the Akron RubberDucks, 5-4, in the series finale of a four-game set on Sunday afternoon at NYSEG Stadium. Hansel Robles struck out eight over five shutout innings in his Double-A debut and Dustin Lawley and Matt Clarkeach compiled three-hit games. Travis Taijeron drove in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning when his roller to first kicked off the infield lip and ricocheted into right field, plating Lawley. Jack Leathersich allowed two runs in relief, but picked up the win. Chasen Bradford surrendered four hits in the ninth in his second save. Will Robertssuffered the loss for Akron.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Greg Peavey makes his first start of the season in his third go-around with the B-Mets. The right-hander started last season in the Las Vegas (AAA) bullpen. He returned to Binghamton in mid-July and made six Eastern League appearances. Drafted in the 6th round in 2010 out of Oregon State University, he went 6-5 and compiled a 4.80 ERA between two levels.

ERIE STARTER: RHP Wilsen Palacios takes the mound for his Double-A debut tonight. The Venezuela native spent last season with Lakeland (High-A), going 7-8 with a 3.07 ERA in 23 starts in the Florida State League. Signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Tigers in 2006, he enters his eighth season in the organization. In his last three seasons, he has gone 24-22 with a 3.31 ERA.

STRIKEOUT-FEST: Four B-Mets pitchers combined to strike out 15 RubberDucks on Sunday afternoon. It was the most strikeouts in one game for the B-Mets since they fanned the same total on 5/30/13 against the Altoona Curve. The B-Mets reached double-figures in strikeouts twice in their four-game series against Akron (11 on 4/3/14). Binghamton ranks third in the Eastern League with 35 strikeouts.

CLARK CLOCKS IT: B-Mets 1B/DH Matt Clark deposited three hits into right field in Sunday's contest, including a pair of doubles. The California native spent last season in Japan playing for the Chunichi Dragons. He launched 25 home runs and collected 14 doubles in 132 games last year.

FIRST THINGS FIRST: The Binghamton Mets plated a run in the first inning in three of their four games against the Akron RubberDucks. The B-Mets are 2-1 when scoring first. 25% of their runs this season have been scored in the first inning.

STARTING THE RALLY: B-Mets catcher Kevin Plawecki singled twice to start two-out rallies in the first and third innings on Sunday. In his first three games at Double-A the Purdue leads the team with three runs scored.

SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES: Erie arrives in the Southern Tier after taking two of three from the Altoona Curve in a rain-shortened series. Eugenio Suarezwent 3-for-11 in the series and launched a pair of home runs. Erie's pitching staff compiled a 2.86 ERA, racked up 27 strikeouts in 22 innings and held the Curve to a .192 batting average.

GETTING VERY FAMILIAR: Despite playing in separate divisions, tonight marks the first of 22 meetings between the B-Met and SeaWolves in 2014, the most out of any Eastern League team Binghamton will face this season. Binghamton will play intra-division rivals Trenton and Reading just eight and six times this season, respectively.

AGAINST ERIE: The B-Mets went 7-6 against the SeaWolves last season, including a 4-3 mark at NYSEG Stadium. Binghamton hit .249 as a team and compiled a 4.54 staff ERA in 13 meetings. The B-Mets have had a winning record against the SeaWolves in each of the last four seasons.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets conclude their rain-shortened series against the SeaWolves on Wednesday night. RHP Matt Bowman takes the mound for his Double-A debut against RHP Jeff Ferrell.
