LAST GAME: The Portland Sea Dogs collected 11 hits, including a pair of home runs, to defeat the Binghamton Mets, 7-4, at NYSEG Stadium on Monday night. The Sea Dogs tagged Tyler Pill for five runs on seven hits over 5.1 innings in his third loss of the season. Travis Shaw ripped a solo home run in the third and Shannon Wilkerson sealed the game with a two-run blast in the seventh. Binghamton's offense awoke in the sixth. They scored three runs off eventual winning pitcher Henry Owens. Brian Burgamy ripped an RBI double off the left-field wall and Jayce Boyd laced a two-run double to the right-field alley. Kyle Johnson capped Binghamton's run with an RBI double in the seventh. Noe Ramirez retired the final five he faced and Miguel Celestino earned his first save with a perfect ninth.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Hansel Robles makes his third start of the season and first against the Portland Sea Dogs. Robles has not allowed a run in ten innings on the mound. He tossed five shutout frames and struck out six to earn his first Double-A win in his most recent start against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on April 13 on the road. Robles scattered four hits, walked two and escaped a pair of bases-loaded situations. Signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Mets out of Bonao, Dominican Republic in August 2008, he is in his sixth season in the Mets organization.

PORTLAND STARTER: RHP Mike McCarthy takes the mound for his third start of the year and first against the B-Mets. McCarthy last threw in relief on Saturday against the New Britain Rock Cats. The righty took over for Mike Augliera and faced three batters, registering one strikeout and allowing one hit. McCarthy's last start came against the Rock Cats on April 13 when he allowed three runs on five hits over five innings in a loss. The Brentwood, CA was selected by the Red Sox in the 14th round in 2011 out of Cal-State Bakersfield.

NEW DIGS: Three different B-Mets made their debuts at different spots in the batting order last night. Kevin Plawecki hit cleanup for the first time in 2014 while Darrell Ceciliani hit sixth and Dustin Lawley was dropped to seventh.

NEVER A LOSING STREAK: The B-Mets have lost six times this season, but they have yet to lose back-to-back games. They are 5-0 following losses in 2014. Binghamton's longest losing streak last year was just three games in length.

DOUBLES PARTY: Four of Binghamton's five hits last night went for doubles. It was the fifth time this season they've collected four doubles in a game. 26% of their hits this season (33 of 126) have gone as two-baggers. The B-Mets rank third in the league with 33 doubles and sit third with a .397 slugging percentage.

STREAKING: B-Mets DH/1B Matt Clark is currently working on a nine-game hitting streak. He is hitting .417 (15-for-36) during the stretch with three doubles, four home runs and 11 RBI. The streak also includes a game against the Fisher Cats in which he walked five times and never registered an at-bat.

REYNOLDS KEEPS ROLLING: B-Mets middle infielder Matt Reynolds extended his hitting streak to eight games with a single in the first inning on Monday night. He has hit .533 (16-for-30) during the stretch and collected four multiple-hit games. He has raised his batting average to .380 to open the season, the fifth-highest average in the Eastern League.

THAT'S DIFFERENT: B-Mets reliever Jack Leathersich used three groundouts to post a perfect eighth inning. It was just the second time in his career the lefty has thrown an inning or more and not recorded a strikeout. Leathersich last did that as a B-Met against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on April 12, 2013.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets continue their four-game series against the Portland Sea Dogs on Wednesday night at 6:35 PM. RHP Greg Peavey takes the hill for the third time this season against RHP Keith Couch.
