Aviators tab Chad Tredaway as director of baseball operations for 2006

ROBSTOWN, TX - American Sports Entertainment - parent company of the Coastal Bend Aviators - and Team General Manager, Shane Tritz announced today that they have hired Chad Tredaway as the teams Director of Baseball Operations for the 2006 campaign.

"I am very excited about being given an opportunity to work with the Coastal Bend Aviators organization along side Shane and Murray this upcoming season. I have always enjoyed my visits to Coastal Bend and their great fans. The Aviators are building a great tradition in Nueces County and its surrounding communities. I'm happy to be a part of it," stated Tredaway."

In addition to his duties with the Aviators, ASE announced that Tredaway will also continue his oversight of the company's second CBL franchise - the Edinburg Roadrunners.

"Over these past five years, Chad has signed and developed many of the country's finest independent free agents," Tritz said. "Having the addition of the Aviators' player roster under his direction, gives him a similar role as most Major League Farm Directors currently have. He'll now have the opportunity to sign and develop 50-60 players a year as oppose to 25-30. It's a great marriage for both sides."

Tredaway is no stranger to the Central Baseball League play-offs and having what it takes to put together championship caliber teams. Under his direction he compiled a 249-140 record as a field manager and was named the league's field manager of the year all four seasons he was in the dugout while also claiming (2) Central Baseball League Championships (2001 & 2004). Tredaway, most recently served as the Director of Player procurement for the Edinburg Roadrunner in 2005 and for the 5th straight season helped guide the Roadrunners into the Central Baseball League Play-offs. Baseball America also named Tredaway the Independent League Manager of the Year in 2001. His skills in talent evaluation and leadership on the field have made him a very popular choice to many players wishing to play for a proven winner and winning organization.

Tredaway, a native of Edinburg, Texas and attended Seminole Jr. College where he was the National Junior College Player of the Year in 1992 and was a first team All-American. Tredaway signed with the Chicago Cubs in 1992 and was traded to the San Diego Padres in 1995. It was with the Padres organization that he reached his highest when he played for Las Vegas (AAA) in 1996 and 1997.

"I am thrilled about having Chad join our organization as are Director of Baseball Operations in 2006, as he has a proven track record in putting together championship caliber team's over the past 5 years. He will be a great asset to my self and the entire Aviators organization, as we all have the same goal and that is to provide a championship caliber team to all the Aviator fans in the Coastal Bend, commented Aviators Field Manager Murray Wilson."
