Aviators Outdistanced Late

Coming off last night's loss, the Aviators started strong against Springfield with 2 runs, scored by Tyler Powers and Zach Heeke, in the first inning. Springfield also started quickly, and the Aviators were down by one run (3-2) at the end of the first.

Five innings later the Aviators scored their next run, and then scored 5 more for a total of 6 runs in the sixth inning putting the Aviators up 8-5. Almost the entire inning the bases were loaded and the Aviators put away one RBI after another. However, Springfield returned the energy scoring 3 to once again tie the game 8-8.

The Aviators lost the lead to Springfield in the 7th inning and would not score again. Springfield won by 4 with a final score of 12-8.

The Aviators play at home against West Virginia tomorrow at 7:05.
