Aviators fall to El Paso

May 29, 2005 - Central Baseball League (Central League) - Coastal Bend Aviators News Release

EL PASO, Texas – The Coastal Bend Aviators lost to the El Paso Diablos 8-0 in game two of a four-game series Saturday night at Cohen Stadium.

In the fourth inning El Paso scored four runs to put the Aviators away. Jorge Diaz hit a RBI double to get the scoring going in the inning. Carlos Castillo then scored on Tyrone Pendergass’ sacrifice bunt making the score 2-0. Also in the fourth inning, Carlos Sepulveda hit a two-run homer making the score 4-0.

Sepulveda added another homerun, a solo shot, in the seventh inning. He finished the day 3 for 4 with four RBI.

Andy Torres (2-0) started the game and got the win pitching eight innings for the Diablos. Torres finished the game with 12 strikeouts. Matthew Rohr (2-2) took the loss for the Aviators.

Aviators’ Carlos Figueroa went 0 for 4 and his hitting streak was snapped at ten games.

The Aviators continue the series at El Paso 2:05 Central Time Sunday. The Aviators return home on May 31st to take on Pensacola in a three-game series.
