Aviators fall in pitchers duel

ROBSTOWN, Texas – The Coastal Bend Aviators lost in the rubber match to the Shreveport Sports 2-0.

The Shreveport Sports scored first when Mike Willis hit an RBI single making the score 1-0 in the top of the fifth inning.

Dalphie Correa led off the sixth inning with a double. Correa went to third on a passed ball. He scored when Hector Lebron reached on an error making the score 2-0.

Bert Snow (1-3) won the pitching duel, throwing seven innings, giving up only four hits, three walks and striking out 12. John Vigue grabbed his second save of the season.

J.J. Trujillo (1-2) toke the loss for the Aviators as he pitched eight innings, giving up one earned run, six hits, and striking out 13.

The Aviators hit the road for an eight game road trip starting Monday with a double header in Edinburg. They come back on May 31 to take on Pensacola. Its two-for-Tuesday as well as Tropical/Hawaiian night. Tickets are available through the Aviator's website, www.aviatorsbaseball.com or call (361) 387-8585.
