Aviators Add a Little Local Flavor

Coastal Bend Aviators News Release


Robstown, TX - The Coastal Bend Aviators announced today that they have signed Right Handed Pitcher Tim Haines for the 2007 season.

Haines, a native of South Texas, played two years at the University of Texas Pan-Am and was selected in the 27th round by the Mets Organization.

In 2006 pitching for the Brooklyn Cyclones, the single A affiliate of the New York Mets, Haines had a 3.09 ERA with 2-0 record in 10 games.

"We look forward to having a young player with so much potential", said John Harris, Manager of the Coastal Bend Aviators.

The Aviators play their season opener May 10th at 7:05 against the El Paso Diablos.

The Coastal Bend Aviators play in the American Association, a professional minor league of baseball with clubs in St. Paul, MN, Sioux Falls, SD, Sioux City, IA, Lincoln, NE, St. Joseph, MO, Shreveport, LA, Pensacola, FL, El Paso and Forth Worth, TX.
