Los Angeles Avengers News Release

LOS ANGELES - Offensive specialists Tony Locke and Kareem Kelly, assistant head coach Brent Winter, "A-Team" dancers Lindsey and Tiffany and the Avenger front office staff took the time on Wednesday, March 8th to take part in Lynwood High School's groundhog job shadowing day through the regional occupational program set up at the school's campus. The Avenger organization was able to pass on their wealth of knowledge to the students from the Los Angeles area. The twenty-five youths spent their day meeting and talking to several of the Avengers staff.

"This was a great opportunity to provide youth a chance to gain valuable insight into the working world by allowing them to shadow our activities during the working day," John Tamanaha, vice president of communications said. "This also gave the youth a chance to engage in active career exploration and further motivate youth to participate in skill building, educational activities by making class work more relevant."

The students began the day at the Avengers front office where they were given the opportunity to meet and ask questions to several staff members. The front office staff explained what their job capacities are for the Avengers and how they began their careers in sports, along with given advice to the youths.

The day also included a trip to the Avenger practice facility where the students were able to talk to Locke, Kelly, Winter and the "A-Team" dancers on how then got involved in professional football and dance.
