Los Angeles Avengers News Release

LOS ANGELES - On Thursday, "A-Team" dancers Brittany and Meki helped celebrate Wal-Mart's 20-year Anniversary Campaign with the Children's Miracle Network by assisting Audrey Cyr (a parent of twins that receives medical care giving) with a $1,000 shopping spree for gifts for patients at the Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. The event took place at the Wal-Mart Super Center in Pico Rivera.

"This is such a great cause and to be able to help out really touched my heart," Meki said. "The patients are going to be so excited with all the great gifts we choose for them."

In 1987, moved by a desire to impact the medical needs of children, Sam Walton, founder of Wal-Mart, partnered with Children's Miracle Network. Twenty years later, Wal-Mart and Children's Miracle Network are celebrating that monumental partnership by raising $10 million in May. To meet this goal, Wal-Mart and Sam's Club implemented a variety of fund raising activities and programs this spring.

The 20-year celebration kicked off with Miracle Balloon sales throughout the United States and the XM Kids Traveling Roadshow Live from the Balloon Bus. The XM Traveling Roadshow hit the road for three weeks broadcasting live, visiting Children's Miracle Network hospitals, and encouraging kids to support Children's Miracle Network by taking part in Wal-Mart's and Sam's Clubs' "Buy a Balloon" campaign. The "Balloon Bus" drove from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C., stopping at 11 different Children's Miracle Network hospitals and Wal-Mart/Sam's locations.
