Los Angeles Avengers News Release
LOS ANGELES - Even though it is their day off, Avenger players regularly take part in "Double Days" ... the team's community outreach program that makes visits to schools and/or hospitals each week.
On Friday, wide receiver/linebacker Robert Quiroga and defensive back Damen Wheeler visited with student-athletes at Robert Fulton College Preparatory School in Van Nuys.
"It's very important for us as Avenger players to talk to these kids about the importance of school," Wheeler said. "These school visits remind me when I was kid and how important it is to have a good role model."
At Robert Fulton College Preparatory, Quiroga and Wheeler put on a football clinic for more than 40 student-athletes. The clinic gave the student-athletes the opportunity to learn the latest football skills in offense, defense and special teams. The Avengers representatives also discussed the importance of staying in school and living healthy lives.
The Avengers are currently 6-6. The team's next game will be on Saturday, June 2, when they play host to the defending ArenaBowl champion Chicago Rush at STAPLES Center.
Pro-rated Avenger season tickets are on sale now at 888-AVENGERS or www.laavengers.com. Single-game tickets, which range in price from $10 to $69.50, are also on sale now at all Ticketmaster outlets, www.ticketmaster.com and the STAPLES Center box office.
