Los Angeles Avengers News Release

LOS ANGELES - Even though it is the off-season, Avenger players, coaches and "A-Team" dancers regularly visit schools, hospitals and community events.

On Saturday, October 28, assistant head coach Brent Winter took part in the 50th Anniversary of the West Valley Eagles Youth Football commencement. Winter took the opportunity to sign autographs, interact with the coaches and speak to the youth football players about having fun and listening to their coaches.

"It's important that we as professional coaches support youth football," Winter said. "Because without youth football players and coaches, we as professional coaches won't have a job."

Later in the day, "A-Team" dancers Alison and Jenna took part in the Padres Contra El Cancer Spooky Halloween Party at the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House. The event was for all hematology/oncology patients and their families. The event gave patients the opportunity to do arts & crafts, get their faces painted, play freaky games, receive Halloween treats and a tour through a spooky haunted house. The "A-Team" dancers interacted with the patients and their families during the event, signing autographs and taking pictures with patients.

On Sunday, October 29, "A-Team" dancers Jessica and Tiffany along with Los Angeles Major Antonio Villaraigosa took part in the "Cops For Tots" car and motorcycle show at Los Angeles Police Academy. For the past 13 years, Central Traffic Division, (CTD) has adopted the Los Angeles Childrens Hospital Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Unit and has actively participated in raising funds for this invaluable program. Central Traffic Division takes great pride in contributing to the Childrens Hospital which not only benefits the child in need of a transplant, but the child's immediate family as well.

Eleven years ago, CTD expanded this charity program to include a car show, "Cops for Tots." The show has resulted in a very successful day of family fun for a good cause. The "A-Team" dancers interacted attendees, signed autographs and took pictures with fans.
