DENVER - The Colorado Crush announced today the signing of four free agents, including quarterback JOSE DAVIS, who played with the Crush during the 2004 and 2005 seasons.

The Crush's other free agent signings were highlighted by a pair of All-af2 linemen, BRETT HUYSER and ED WANGLER. The club also added rookie wide receiver CHAUNCEY STOVALL. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

DAVIS (6-1, 195, Kent State) rejoins the Crush after playing last season with the Grand Rapids Rampage. He served as Colorado's backup quarterback during the 2004 and 2005 seasons, appearing under center in four contests. A four-year AFL veteran, Davis has completed 113-of-204 passes for 1,181 yards and 17 touchdowns with five interceptions for his career.

HUYSER (6-4, 310, Air Force) begins his second stint with the Crush, having been in training camp with the club last season. He went on to play in 13 games with the af2 Green Bay Blizzard in 2006 and earned Second Team All-af2 honors. With the Blizzard, he recorded 11.5 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and two pass break-ups. Huyser played offensive guard at Air Force from 2001-2003 and garnered All-Mountain West team honors as a senior.

STOVALL (6-1, 215, Florida State) is a former standout wide receiver at Florida State, leading the team in receptions in 2004 and earning Second Team All-ACC honors. In 25 games with the Seminoles, he caught 72 passes for 1,120 yards and eight touchdowns. Stovall signed as a rookie free agent in 2005 with the Philadelphia Eagles and attended training camp with the team.

WANGLER (6-4, 260, Oregon) joins the Crush as an All-af2 First Team lineman last season with the Macon Knights. In 14 games as a defensive line specialist, he set a club record with 13 sacks (4th in af2) and added 23.5 tackles, three forced fumbles, one pass break-up and two safeties. In two seasons with Macon, Wangler leaves as the team's all-time career leader in sacks with 16.5.

The Colorado Crush concluded the 2006 season capturing their second consecutive Central Division title and finished the regular season with a team-best tying 11-5 record.
