Avalanche make additions to staff

SALEM, VA. - The start of 2006 brings two new members to the Roanoke Valley' s Professional Baseball Team. The Avalanche have added Scott Burton and Jeanne Boester to their Front Office Staff. Burton, 29, will work as the Director of Food and Beverage with the club heading up concessions at the ballpark. Boester, 24, joins the organization as an Account Executive / Ticket Sales Representative, working to help run the ticket office throughout the season.

"Adding Scott and Jeanne in our organization is a major step forward in our preparation for the 2006 season," Avalanche V.P./G.M. John Katz said. "They will be a major asset to our staff and this community."

Burton, a graduate of the University of Tennessee comes to the Avalanche from his native Nashville, TN. Burton previously served as Director of Food and Beverage at Nashville Shores, a major local waterpark. Working with the Avalanche will be Burton's first experience in professional sports.

"Scott's experience in a high-volume family entertainment venue will be a tremendous benefit to our team," Katz said. "I look for great food service innovations in 2006, and Scott will lead the way."

Boester joins the Avalanche after working a season in the Operations Department with the Memphis Redbirds of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League. A 2004 graduate of Bowling Green University, Boester graduated with a degree in Sports Management. She hails from Delaware, Ohio.

"Jeanne comes from a great environment in Memphis," Katz said. "Her drive and work ethic will be extremely valuable assets as we move into the season.
