Owen Sound Attack News Release
Bruce Telecom will present all of the action tonight at the Bayshore when the Whalers come to town!
A lot is on the line tonight when the Owen Sound Attack host the Plymouth Whalers in Ontario Hockey League action at the Bayshore. Plymouth is currently five points behind the Attack for the 7th position while the Attack sit just three points back of the Saginaw Spirit for 6th in the Western Conference.
Zach Nastasiuk is on a hot run for the Attack, scoring 5 points and 3 games last weekend to earn Becker Shoes player of the week honors. Santino Centorame had his four game point streak snapped last Saturday, but has still managed to gather six points in his last five games.
Tonight is the first of three remaining games for the Attack with the other two being against London and Guelph.
Former Plater enforcer, OHL Heavyweight Champion and Owen Sound native Shawn Krueger will drop the puck on the last Platers night of the season. In 111 Regular Season games, Krueger tallied 19 points and 197 Penalty Minutes.
Whalers @ Attack
Plymouth extended their streak of 23 straight years of post-season hockey by clinching a playoff spot last week. The 2013 OHL Western Conference finalists have been a model of consistency during their OHL tenure. The Whalers rely heavily on 17 year old goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic as they are the 2nd lowest scoring team in the entire OHL with 181 goals. Nedeljkovic is the main reason the Whalers qualified for the post season as he holds a .925 save percentage in 59 games played.
Look Out For:
Alex Nedeljkovic came in and backstopped the Whalers to a series win over the Attack last post season as a 16 year old and has rode the wave ever since. The calm, cool and collected netminder is one of the top rated goalies for this years NHL draft and could very well be taken in the first round.
Tickets for tonight's game are available at the Attack Box Office or by calling (519) 371-7452. Game time is 7:00pm.
