Attack Downed In Overtime Thriller

It was one of the most spectacular games every played at the Bayshore as the London Knights picked up a 2-1 overtime win over the Owen Sound Attack to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

Lane MacDermid gave the Attack at 1-0 lead at 17:31 of the first period.

Sam Gagner tied the game at 1 just 1:09 later.

It was the Owen Sound Attack that carried the play out shooting the Knights 61-24 in the game.

At 4:41 of overtime Matt Clarke scored the game winner to give the London Knights a 2-0 series lead over the Attack.

Knight's goaltender Steve Mason stopped 60 of 61 shots and was named First Star.

Attack captain Bobby Ryan was by far the best player on the ice and was named Second Star.

Matt Clark was named Third Star after scoring the overtime winner.

Game 3 in the series is Tuesday night at 7pm in London.

Game 4 is Thursday night at 7pm at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. Season ticket holders have until 1pm Wednesday to pay for their seats before they will be released for sale to the general public. The box office is open weekdays 8:30am to 5pm.
