Atlético Ottawa Striker Rubén del Campo celebrates his second CPL goal of the season

OTTAWA, ON - Atlético Ottawa is top of the Canadian Premier League (CPL) table as the undefeated start to the season continued on Sunday with a convincing win over Valour FC. First-half goals from Rubén del Campo and Gabriel Antinoro secured three points for Ottawa in another match where thousands of soccer supporters turned out despite the rainy conditions.
KEY MOMENTS
Atlético Ottawa climbed to the top of the Canadian Premier League table and remains undefeated in 2024 (3-1-0).
Rubén del Campo gave Atlético the lead (19') with a left-footed volley into the bottom corner from a set-piece.
Exciting young talent Gabriel Antinoro doubled Ottawa's lead, reacting quickest in the penalty area to convert Kris Twardek's cross (32').
Ottawa put on another domain display, defending from the front as they won possession in Valour's final third seven (7) times.
Both goals Atlético's goals were scored from set-pieces, capitalizing on a free-kick for the opening goal and a throw-in for the second.
This was Ottawa's first clean sheet in the CPL this season in a strong defensive display with goalkeeper Nathan Ingham returning in between the sticks.
Ingham made two (2) saves with a passing accuracy (85.4%) as Atleti continued to build-up confidently from the back.
Abou Sissoko put on a dominant display in the midfield, engaging in 14 duels (most on the team) and winning seven (7).
Sissoko also won three of his four tackles as well as regaining possession in the final third two (2) times.
Gabriel Antinoro made his first start of the season and impressed on the right flank.
Antinoro was replaced in the 80th minute by fellow u21 player Zach Roy.

Atlético Ottawa returns to action with a third match in 7 days at TD Place, facing Pacific FC on Wednesday, May 8, in the quarter-finals of the TELUS Canadian Championship.
This is a two-legged quarter-final with the team that advances facing the winner of Vancouver Whitecaps vs Cavalry FC.
