
Atlanta Vision host playoff game March 17th

ATLANTA, GA - March 7, 2006 - The young and talented Atlanta Vision team ends their regular season clinching an ABA Division Title and earning a first round playoff bye. The Atlanta Vision will now play at home in the 2nd round of the ABA 2006 Championship Playoffs on Friday, March 17th at 7:35pm. The Vision is scheduled to play the winners of the 1st round match up between NBA legend Darryl 'Chocolate Thunder" Dawkins' Newark Express and Vincent Askew's Tacoma Navigators. 'Our fans and sponsors are very excited about a professional basketball playoff game here in Atlanta," comments General Manager Dennis Scott. 'The Vision is destined for success on and off the court," adds Vision owner Quentin Townsend.
Atlanta Vision will play their high flyin', above the rim, 3-D action ABA Championship Playoff game on March 17th at The Samson's Center, 6400 Woodrow Road - Lithonia, Georgia 30038. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets early and see why the Vision was recently named 'Atlanta's Best Value in Sports Entertainment." Doors open at 7:00pm and tip-off is at 7:35pm. Online tickets go on sale this Wednesday, March 8th at 1:00pm. Play-off ticket prices include free parking and are $5 for students, $10 for Adults, $15 for Floor seats, $20 for VIP seats, while fans 6 and under are free. Dennis Scott, Coach Whitted, and all Atlanta Vision players will be available for a special autograph session after the game.
ABA NEWS: The ABA has announced the first round match-ups among the 24 teams that have qualified for the ABA Playoff Championships. The Atlanta Vision and seven other top-ranked teams have received a first round bye, with teams ranked #9 through #24 squaring off this weekend, March 10-12. According to Ricardo Richardson, ABA Executive Vice President, "These pairings were made using a combination of factors, including won-loss record, power rankings, difficulty of schedule, number of games played and geography. We think the match-ups are fair - and it's anybody's tournament to win."
The American Basketball Association (ABA) has officially announced that the ABA Championship Playoffs - The Great Eight - will be held at The Blue Cross Arena, the home of the Rochester RazorSharks, on Wednesday, March 22, Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26 (ABA Championship Game)
